saying live on this, but I know I can't
even while slaving for you full-time, I can't even pay my rent

It just goes down the drain, the drain
of the landlord who never even fixes it

There's many things wrong with this world o yes
and I'm no longer going to stand for it

they say if you don't like it,

Everywhere I look it's class warfare
People trying to make a living in a world unfair
New York, Chicago, St. Louis, Detroit
not showing up today for you to exploit

You might think without the poor
there'd be no incentive to make more
but we just want a living wage
this minimum wage keeps us in a cage
