I went out one late dark eve
The police told us to leave
I was sitting all by myself
They said that I had to go right then
No reason I was just sitting there
Closing time was a quarter hour
This is how they abuse their power
They accused me of being drunk
I was placed under their arrest
They refused me any test
They took me to the station
There they counted my money short
I was caged in a jail cell
They made me pay them their fine
If they can’t find crime they’ll make one up
A judge won’t listen to you on your own
Playing God on his powerful throne
Any good lawyer will cost your rent
If you eat well that money’s all spent

One night talking in a group of friends
They strolled in and took him outside
While all the sleepers were rolling in shrugs
That’s when they planted him with drugs
He was cuffed in humility
They made him pay them their fine

Land of the free yes home of the brave
I will die before I’m a slave
They are scared of each other
So they fight their sisters and brothers
Everywhere I go I’m asked for my ID
